Roksol STR is an anionic lubricant used mainly in the production of chrome tanned leather for gloves and other garments. The product is a mixture of anionic emulsifiers and chlorinated organic compounds. The commercial product is a homogeneous, viscous brown liquid with permissible level of turbidity. In water it forms milky emulsions and has good resistance to acids, alkalis and electrolytes. It is resistant to oxidation and sunlight.

The product’s aqueous emulsions have an anionic character. The optimum degree of emulsion durability is obtained by using water at a temperature of 60-70°C.Roksol STR exhibits high softening properties of chrome-tanned leather as well as moderate equalising and hydrophobic effects. A characteristic feature of leather greased with Roksol STR is the lack of fat spots and deposits, even during long-term storage of leather. Chrome tanned leather greased with Roksol STR is also characterized by high softness, bulkiness, smoothness and tightness of the grain and good dyeing properties.This anionic agent can be mixed with all anionic and non-ionic lubricants. It is also possible to prepare so called multi-charged compositions of Roksol STR with cationic fats (e.g. with Roksol ST3K), in case of excess cationic as well as anionic agentThe product has the ability to emulsify crude, natural and mineral fats, which enables an increase in the effectiveness of lubrication properties, if necessary. The possibility of mixing Roksol STR with cationic or anionic compounds (syntans, vegetable tanning agents) depends on the conditions (pH, concentration, etc.) and needs to be verified in each case.
