EXOcare TE20 MB Flakes is a mixture under the INCI name of: Cetearyl Alcohol and Ceteareth-20. The product is commercialised in the form of white, waxy, solid flakes. EXOcare TE20 MB Flakes is manufactured based on renewable plant materials, and it is used mainly in the production of cosmetics.
Raw materials used for production of EXOcare TE20 MB Flakes is a derivative of palm kernel oil sourced from certified oil palm plantations. The product is RSPO certified in the Mass Balance variant.
EXOcare TE20 MB Flakes is mainly used as emulsifying base in O/W preparations. It is characterised by high stability over a wide pH range. It can be successfully used as the primary or secondary emulsifier in a wide range of creams, pastes and balms.
As EXOcare TE20MB Flakes is not an ester and has a non-ionic character, it can be used in systems having pH far from neutral, such as hair straightening preparations, depilatory creams, creamy balms and skin care creams.
EXOcare TE20 MB Flakes can also be used as a conditioner and emollient in body wash and care cosmetics. As a component of skin and hair care products it creates an occlusive layer (film) on the surface. It prevents an excessive evaporation of water from the surface (an indirect moisturizing action), thus conditioning, softening and smoothing the skin and the hair.
The product also reduces skin dryness caused by anionic surfactants contained in the formulation, leaving the skin moisturised and covered with a protective layer.
EXOcare TE20 MB Flakes is also a rheology modifier (improves the consistency of creams, milks, hair conditioners, etc. by increasing their viscosity), and contributes to better application properties of the preparation. It improves the spreadability of cosmetics, reduces friction and can promote foaming.
Moreover, the product efficiently removes impurities and make-up from the skin without provoking its excessive degreasing while washing. It is not sensitive to hard water.
EXOcare TE20 MB Flakes is asafe product. It does not provoke irritations nor allergic reactions. It can be used in combination with other non-ionic surfactants and in mixtures with anionic and cationic surfactants.
