EXOplast OTE3 is a compound belonging to the group of polyoxyethylene glycols, constituting an additive extending the open time of paints. The product is well soluble in water and low aliphatic alcohols, ethyl ether and chloroform.

It has the form of colourless and clear liquid. At room temperature, its Hazena scale colour is 30. The solidification temperature of EXOplast OTE3 is 5°C, and the flash point is above 150°C.

It is a highly concentrated product. The content of active substance is a min. 99.5%.

The main application of EXOplast OTE3 is to adjust the open time of paint coating during the drying process. The main advantage of this product is that it very effectively prevents the paint from drying too quick. Thanks to this, the time during which it is possible to repaint and correct defects of the freshly applied coating is extended. EXOplast OTE3 also minimizes the risk of cracks on freshly formed coatings. As an additive to paints EXOplast OTE3 is fully compatible with its other components, such as polymer dispersions, pigments or auxiliary agents. Therefore, the product does not deteriorate the stability of the paint during storage. EXOplast OTE3 can also be used as humectant in the production of water-borne pigment concentrates. The use of the product in this application prevents quick drying of the colourant in colouring machines. Thanks to this, it retains its useful properties for longer.The product does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOC-free) and is characterized by a relatively low SVOC, thanks to which it is a very good alternative to the commonly used propylene glycol. The recommended level of use is 0.5 – 3% in finished paint formulations and 1-10% in pigment concentrates.The product is safe and not classified according to the CLP/GHS Regulation.
