ROKAnol® DB6 is classified among the non-ionic surfactants in the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: C12-15 Pareth-6). It is a part of the ROKAnol DB series, based on C12-C15 fatty alcohol. The pronounced surface activity means they form excellent detergents and cleaning agents, which opens up the possibility for their use in other branches of industry.
At room temperature, ROKAnol DB6 has the form of a clear or turbid liquid with a tendency for delamination. It coagulates at a temperature of approx. 15°C, while at 40°C it constitutes a clear liquid with a bright colour, i.e. max. 60 on the Hazen scale. The product contains approximately 100% of the active substance. What is more, it is characterized by a high cloud point in the temperature range 76-82oC (butyl diglycol/water solution).
The hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of this product is approximately 11.4. Thanks to its limited water solubility it forms cloud solutions with this solvent. Due to its non-ionic nature it is perfectly suited for combinations with other non-ionic, cationic and anionic surfactants. It is characterized by very good detergent, emulsifying and dispersant properties.
In washing detergents it is a perfect alternative to standard anionic active products, for which efficient washing requires concentrated formulas combined with high temperatures for cotton fabrics. Similar to other products from the ROKAnol DB series, the detergent action of ROKAnol DB6 is so efficient that the cleaning process itself can take place even at low temperatures and in low concentrations.
Furthermore, the product exhibits the capacity to emulsify mineral oil, thus it can be applied in products intended to remove machine oil stains during pretreatment of fabric/knitwear. It synergizes well with ROKAnol DB series products with a higher ethoxylation level.
ROKAnol DB6 is an excellent component of formulations used in household products, e.g. kitchen detergents, window and floor cleaning products.
It is used in products intended for industrial and institutional applications. Its good emulsifying properties mean that it can be used in metal degreasing processes. ROKAnol DB6 is fully biodegradable and meets the criteria of the detergents directive.
